A Heartfelt Bohemian Wedding Celebration in Nashville
Description
Susan and Billy's romantic Nashville wedding features stunning florals and intimate details, reflecting their unique love story and aesthetic.

Susan Gray and Billy Connolly tied the knot in a beautiful Nashville venue, encapsulating a vintage bohemian aesthetic enhanced by breathtaking floral arrangements and an intimate atmosphere, fully embracing their love story.

Following the unforeseen loss of a loved one, Susan and Billy found strength in each other, realizing that life can change in an instant. "We agreed that life can change in such short notice, and we were both ready to face the new world together,” Susan explains. This realization led to a joyful engagement and the subsequent planning of a wedding that combined personal touches and their shared vision.

Designing a Dreamy Atmosphere
With a passion for earthy tones and natural elements, the couple sought to create a cozy and inviting ambiance throughout their celebration. Collaborating with T Villager Designs and expert planners from Premier W.E.D., they refined their aesthetic vision. The team meticulously gathered materials like pampas grass, bunny grasses, and thistle, even sourcing real tumbleweeds to enhance the bohemian vibe.

In keeping with their theme, T Villager Designs dyed Annabel hydrangeas in vibrant teal and dried baby's breath in warm hues of burnt orange, teal, and ivory over several weeks, ensuring that every element was thoughtfully curated for their special day. This attention to detail added depth to the decor, making each piece feel like an integral part of the overall design.

Choosing the Perfect Venue
The couple's venue, The Estate at Cherokee Dock, formerly owned by country star Reba McEntire, provided a picturesque backdrop for their wedding. The sprawling estate, set against a stunning lakefront and surrounded by towering trees, perfectly matched Susan's vision for a romantic and bohemian ambiance. The outdoor setting was ideal for capturing both the beauty of nature and the love shared between them.

Reflecting on their choice, Susan noted, “It was a difficult and strange time in 2020, so I wanted to bring joy and peace to the people who were a part of it. I knew our day, October 31st, would be one that people could look back on and smile about from an otherwise challenging year.” Their wedding was designed to offer a sense of comfort and joy during tough times, enhancing the day’s heartfelt emotions.

Meaningful Details
To honor their families and the loved ones they had lost, Susan created a special memorial area at the reception that mimicked a cozy living room. This space featured a decorative mantel adorned with framed pictures of their family members, allowing guests to celebrate the couple’s history as part of the present. Seating and lighting were strategically placed throughout the venue to create inviting spaces, letting guests mingle and enjoy various aspects of the reception.

In a thoughtful nod to their shared homes, the couple opted for locally-sourced wedding favors that resonated with their journey together. Guests received a curated selection of items that included Ranger Station candles from Nashville, hand-knit blankets from Denver, and delicious popcorn from Choo-Choo Kettle Corn in Chattanooga.

A Feast and Celebration
After the ceremony, guests were treated to fantastic floral displays created by T Villager Designs that not only delighted the eye but also enhanced the enchanting atmosphere. They dined on delicious, farm-fresh cuisine provided by Southall Farms, followed by desserts from Baked in Nashville, which were as delicious as they were beautifully presented.

The celebration reached its peak when guests danced the night away with the electrifying The Downtown Band, marking the beginning of the couple's new journey. Music played a vital role in setting an upbeat atmosphere that brought everyone together to celebrate love, joy, and resilience.
